When you apply, CareerLagoon receives the details you enter: your name, mobile number, email address, the role you are interested in and any optional note. When you message CareerLagoon HR on WhatsApp, we receive your WhatsApp name, phone number and the text of your message. Emails to CareerLagoon give us your address and whatever the email says.
Yes, the routine details any website receives: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. The CareerLagoon hosting provider keeps these to operate and protect careerlagoon.com, and CareerLagoon does not link them to applications.
If a required field is empty, CareerLagoon may not be able to contact you or pass your application to the employer. Optional fields can simply be skipped.
Do not share passwords, SMS verification codes, card or bank account numbers, tax file numbers or images of ID with CareerLagoon. CareerLagoon has no use for them, will not request them and removes them if they are sent anyway.
To reply to your application and send role details, to pass your application to the employer for the role you picked, to answer questions sent by email or WhatsApp, to keep records of applications and conversations, to handle complaints and misuse, and to comply with the law.
CareerLagoon does not sell, rent or trade personal information and does not use applications for marketing. Should another role seem a better fit, CareerLagoon will ask your permission before your details go anywhere for it.
Only the people at CareerLagoon who handle applications, plus the employer behind your chosen role. CareerLagoon names the employer and explains what will be shared before any introduction is made.
careerlagoon.com is hosted and protected by Cloudflare, which also forwards emails addressed to CareerLagoon. Fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, meaning your browser requests them from Google. Messages with CareerLagoon HR travel through WhatsApp, a Meta service. These providers follow their own policies. CareerLagoon will list any new provider here, for example a form builder or ad tag, before switching it on.
CareerLagoon discloses information to authorities only when legally required, or when legally permitted and reasonably needed to look into misuse or protect the rights of a person.
Applying to CareerLagoon has two steps: the form, then a WhatsApp message to HR. Our button only opens WhatsApp with suggested text to the CareerLagoon HR number shown in the chat header. It is not sent until you press Send yourself. No WhatsApp? Write to careers@careerlagoon.com and CareerLagoon will arrange another option.
careerlagoon.com does not use advertising or analytics cookies. A strictly necessary security cookie may be set by our host to stop automated abuse. Blocking or deleting cookies will not stop the CareerLagoon site from working.
At the date shown, careerlagoon.com runs no ad tags, remarketing lists or analytics. Before CareerLagoon adds any, this section will be updated to name the provider, describe what it receives and explain your options. CareerLagoon never puts names, phone numbers or email addresses into tracking data or URLs.
Some of CareerLagoon's providers, such as Cloudflare, Google and WhatsApp, process data outside Australia, including in the United States. CareerLagoon applies the Australian Privacy Principles to these disclosures, and you can ask careers@careerlagoon.com for more information.
Up to twelve months after our last real conversation about a role, after which CareerLagoon deletes it. CareerLagoon deletes sooner if you ask, and keeps it longer only when the law or an unresolved dispute requires. Hosting logs are normally gone within 30 days.
careerlagoon.com uses HTTPS, and only the people handling applications can open them. No system is perfect, so if a breach is likely to cause you serious harm, CareerLagoon will notify you under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Employers you were introduced to, and WhatsApp itself, may hold their own records outside CareerLagoon's control. CareerLagoon can point you to the right place to ask them.
You may ask CareerLagoon at careers@careerlagoon.com for a copy of your information, a correction, deletion or withdrawal of your application. CareerLagoon may need to confirm who you are, will try to respond within 30 days and will give reasons if a request is refused. An introduction that has already happened cannot be undone.

careerlagoon.com is for adults looking for work. If CareerLagoon finds a child's information, it is deleted.
Write to careers@careerlagoon.com explaining your concern. CareerLagoon will look into it and respond in writing, and if you remain dissatisfied, a person at CareerLagoon with no earlier involvement will review the matter afresh.
CareerLagoon asks for your preferred role so the right details and training reach you and the application goes to the matching employer. Not sure yet? Mention it when you message CareerLagoon HR and they will talk you through each role first. Until an introduction has happened, you can switch roles by sending a WhatsApp message or writing to careers@careerlagoon.com.
The chat with CareerLagoon HR is stored so the team has context when you follow up. Only staff dealing with applications can read it, and CareerLagoon will delete its copy on request. Your phone keeps its own copy, and WhatsApp handles its records under its own policy. CareerLagoon does not pass WhatsApp conversations to advertisers or data brokers.
Yes. You can stop your application with CareerLagoon whenever you like by messaging HR or emailing careers@careerlagoon.com. CareerLagoon will stop contacting you about roles, will not introduce you to any further employers and will delete your details in line with the retention section, unless the law requires CareerLagoon to keep a record for longer.
CareerLagoon relies on the details you give, so please check them before you submit. If HR notices something that looks wrong, such as a mistyped number, CareerLagoon will ask you to confirm it on WhatsApp rather than guess. You can correct your details at any time by messaging HR or writing to careers@careerlagoon.com.
It may. Updates are posted here with a new date, and if they affect information CareerLagoon already holds, you will be told first where the law requires.
